Hundreds of unionists and municipal leaders marched Thursday through the capital and other cities in Costa Rica in protest of the austerity policies promoted by the government to contain public spending amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Costa Rica will open its borders to foreign tourists from the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada on August 1, Health Minister Daniel Salas announced Thursday.Â
As of July 20 there were 311,000 deaths in the Americas and that last week the region reached the level of 900,000 new cases with 22,000 deaths, mostly in Brazil, Mexico and the United States.
