June inflation decreases in Nicaragua

MANAGUA – Nicaraguan inflation was 0.34 percent in June, almost half of that reported in the same month in 2011 (0.66 percent), for a cumulative 2.19 percent in the first half, according to Central Bank figures released Tuesday.

A second consecutive month of low inflation is contributed to an increased supply of agricultural goods and a decrease in international oil prices, a Central Bank report stated.

Inflation from June 2011 to June 2012 stood at 6.46 percent, 2.55 percentage points lower than the same period last year.
