Gringos see Costa Rica as a dream wedding destination

Costa Rica scored one more accolade before the year’s end thanks to Google.

The search engine giant released its annual Zeitgeist charts last week. The tables show the year-in-review of Google searches, including most-searched tourist destinations. Costa Rica found its way onto one of those lists.

The top U.S. searches for wedding destinations showed Costa Rica ranked 9th. The list shows “trending” locales – destinations that showed the biggest increase in search volume from 2012 to 2013.

U.S. searches for destination wedding locations

1. Mexico
2. Bahamas
3. Kauai
4. Caribbean
5. Jamaica
6. Italy
7. Las Vegas
8. Florida
9. COSTA RICA
10. Bermuda

Google boasts two-thirds of the search engine market share for the United States, according to a recent ComScore report.
