Children’s art beautifies beach town

Brightly painted flowers and flying fish made out of recycled water bottles lend whimsy and heart to the streets of Sámara, a beach community on northwestern Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. The pieces were made by children age 2 to 5 from the nonprofit Sámara Pacific School, as part of an after-school program organized by CREAR, the Foundation for Creativity, Education, Art and Social Responsibility, which has been operating in the area since 2005.
