Even Costa Rica’s money is diverse

Or so says a new exhibition at the Santa Ana Conservation Center. Through June 24, the center will feature the many animals and plants that have to date been displayed on Costa Rica’s bills and coins. The exhibit stems from research by University of Costa Rica biologists José Vargas and Jorge Gómez, and is sponsored by the Museums of the Central Bank of Costa Rica and the Pro-Zoological Foundation (Fundazoo).

The exhibit is open to the public 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and special accommodations can be made for local schools, including free admission. More information at 2256-0012. For the public, admission is 1,500 ($3) for children 3-12, and 2,200 ($4.44) for adults.

The exhibit is located in the center’s Historical Agriculture Museum, on Ross Street, 300 meters west and 200 meters north of the Red Cross in Santa Ana, west of San José.
