Surrounded by iconic historical murals, Culture Minister Elizabeth Fonseca Corrales announces the winner of the Magón Award at the Museum of Costa Rican Art in La Sabana. This year’s recipient is linguist and university professor Miguel Ángel Quesada Pacheco. The Magón Award is given each year to a Costa Rican citizen who has made profound contributions to the nation’s cultural life. Quesada is known for his research into Latin American dialects, particularly the history of Spanish and indigenous languages.
