Tickets for Michael Bolton concert on April 2 go on sale

Michael Bolton, belter of gushy ballads, will perform in Escazú on April 2. Tickets for the concert went on sale to the general public Monday at www.eticket.cr.

Bolton will perform at 8 p.m. at the Hotel Intercontinental, west of San José. The 1,100-capacity venue offers tickets for either $179 or $224 depending on your seat.

Bolton has built a reputation as a superstar of soft rock. He’s won Grammys and topped U.S. charts in the early 1990s with hits like “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” and ” Said I Loved You … But I Lied.” Bolton has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, according to his official website.

Before his ballad success, Bolton actually performed in hair metal groups. Younger generations know him best as the guy who sang the theme song the Disney animated film “Hercules” and as a punchline in the cult classic Office Space.

Bolton is the second act in the mawkish “Intimate Concerts” series, produced by RPM TV. Spanish singer Ana Torronja did a show on Valentine’s Day. Natalie Cole, daughter of Nat King Cole, wraps up the series with a concert on June 9.
