LTG Hosts Storytelling Workshop, Performance

Storytelling, magic and laughter come to the Little Theatre Group Aug. 8 as a team of renowned presenters and authors on creativity host an afternoon Creativity and Storytelling Workshop and an evening performance.

Recommended for teachers, artists, actors, parents and anyone interested in telling better stories, the afternoon workshop will teach participants how to craft stories that stimulate head and heart connection with audiences through various methods.

Following the workshop, a special performance will feature a renowned cast of storytellers, authors and laughter leaders visiting Costa Rica before their upcoming presentation at the World Creativity Conference in South Africa, in addition to local troubadours attending the workshop.

Faculty includes market research guru Eileen Doyle, co-founder of the New England Creativity Group; educator and author Bruce Baum; and lifelong storyteller and professional speaker and workshop facilitator Alan Black.

Both the workshop, from 2 to 5 p.m., and evening program, starting at 7:30 p.m., will be held at San José’s Laurence Oliver Theater, next to Sala Garbo on Avenida 2, Calle 28. Tickets to the workshop, which is limited to 50 participants, cost ¢6,000 ($10), while admission to the storytelling evening costs ¢4,000 ($7) – free for workshop participants.
