Calle 13, Alan Parsons to headline 2012 International Arts Festival

The 2012 International Arts Festival, known as the FIA, is around the corner, and this year the festival has secured bigger acts than ever before. Puerto Rican reggaeton icons Calle 13 will be opening the festival on March 16, and Alan Parsons – yes, the Alan Parsons who worked with the Beatles and Pink Floyd and whose song “Sirius” became a stadium rock staple in the U.S. – will be closing it on March 25, both at the main concert stage to be set up in La Sabana Park.

Organized by the Culture Ministry and the National Theater, the 10-day art and culture festival will once again transform the city of San José into a stage. More than 2,000 artists from 28 countries, including Korea as guest of honor, will be participating.

“This great festival promises to be one of the most important we’ve had,” Culture Minister Manuel Obregón said in a statement.
