Costa Rica Enters Top 20 in World Happiness Report

Costa Rica has been ranked as the 12th happiest country in the world according to the latest World Happiness Report, sponsored by the UN. This marks a significant milestone for the Central American nation, as it places ahead of larger economies like the United States and Germany, which did not make the top 20 this year. Factors contributing to Costa Rica’s high ranking include life satisfaction, GDP per capita, social support, and healthy life expectancy. The country’s focus on environmental conservation, renewable energy, and sustainable tourism, along with strong education and healthcare systems, has played a critical role in its citizens’ happiness and life satisfaction.

Costa Rica Launches First Passenger Drone Flight in Latin America

Costa Rica has made a groundbreaking leap in Latin American transportation by launching the first passenger drone flight in the region, showcasing the potential of Advanced Air Mobility or Innovative Air Mobility with the use of electric vertical take-off and landing air vehicles. This inaugural flight took place at Reserva Conchal, covering scenic areas including a golf course, coastal regions, and the sea. The initiative, driven by a partnership among Bluenest by Globalvia, Guanacaste Airport, and Reserva Conchal, aims to promote sustainability and enhance quality of life in Costa Rica. The eVTOL vehicles promise zero CO2 emissions, reduced noise and turbulence, and the ability to connect remote areas without the need for extensive ground infrastructure, thereby offering versatile transport solutions like tourist routes, fast airport transfers, and urgent medical deliveries.
