Montezuma Musings

It’s time once again for the Playa Los Cedros Junior Surf Tournament, to be held in Cabuya July 16 and 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the fifth straight year, junior competitive surfing will be showcased on the Nicoya Peninsula. Surfers will compete in age-based categories for all levels of junior surfing and body boarding, including novice for beginners and an open expression session for surfers over 18. Everyone is welcome to compete free of charge.

The event will feature great music, local food and prizes for all the contestants. The format of the contest allows all competitors to compete both days. The top two surfers from each heat advance, and the lower two surfers from each heat will continue to compete and still have a chance to win their category.

This community-based event is sponsored by Century 21 Beach Area Properties, Luna Llena Hotel, Ylang Ylang Beach Resort, Armonía Eco Village, MontezumaSurf.com, Zuma Tours, Cosas del Mundo, Cocolores Restaurant, Amor de Mar Hotel, Paraíso Publicidad and Zoom Magazine.
