Children: the future of shark protection

The nonprofit organization Misión Tiburón is strongly engaged in the protection of hammerhead sharks in Costa Rica. They hope to set a milestone for future generations to build on. That’s why their secondary focus is marine education, so Costa Rica’s children can learn the importance of shark reservation.

“Kids have open minds. They are naturally empathetic about an issue,” said Ilena Zanella, one of the owners of the organization.

She has high hopes that children will continue her mission of protecting hammerhead sharks in the future.
