The Birding Club of Costa Rica (BCCR) invites members and prospective birders to the “Basics of Birding, an informal introductory course by birding guide Patrick O’Donnell on Saturday, June 9, on a private finca near Ciudad Colón.

Plan on an early-bird start, with coffee and muffins at 6 a.m. The course starts promptly at 6:30 a.m. Bird-watching techniques will be practiced on toucans, trogons and other local species.”

A gourmet breakfast is your reward for getting up early. The BCCR annual meeting will be held afterward, when members will discuss trips and ideas for birding outings. Bring a notepad, binoculars and good walking shoes or boots. Cost for the course and breakfast is $20. Please reserve with Lyn Statten by June 3 at lynfred@racsa.co.cr.
