It’s official: Roger Waters will perform in Costa Rica

The concert producer MOVE Concerts announced on its Facebook profile Thursday that Roger Waters bring his “Us + Them” tour to Costa Rica later this year.

According to MOVE Concerts’ post, Costa Rica will be the only Central America nation to host the acclaimed artist. At the concert, to be held at the National Stadium in San José on Nov. 24, Waters will play music from the Pink Floyd albums “Wish You Were Here,” “The Wall,” “Animals” and “Dark Side of The Moon,” along with song from his new album “Is This the Life We Really Want?”

Fans have been panting for confirmation since the installation on Sunday of a giant inflatable pink pig at the National Stadium, along with handbills with the pig’s image posted around the city and cryptic messages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The pig has been a characteristic figure of Waters since the 1970s and its appearance has presaged concert announcements in the past.

“We’ll present a new show,” Waters said in a press release. “It’ll be a combination of my long career, things from my Pink Floyd years, some new things. Probably 80 percent of it will be old material and 20 percent new material, but it’ll be connected by a general topic. It’ll be a great show, I promise. It’ll be as spectacular as all my shows have been.”

Tickets will be available at www.eticket.cr on the following dates:

Amex presale: Starts Monday, April 30, at 10 a.m. local time

Credomatic presale: Starts Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m. local time

General sale: Starts Monday, May 7, at 12 a.m. local time

According to MOVE Concerts, Roger Waters’ live shows are known as sensory immersive experiences that offer cutting-edge audiovisual production and an impressive quadruple sound. The new tour promises to be no exception, and is the result of meticulous planning, producers said.
