U.S. man drowns in Osa

From the print edition

A U.S. man who was on vacation visiting his son in Costa Rica died of natural causes while swimming, the man’s daughter told The Tico Times.

Alfred Kobe Storay and his son Kobe Tico were at Playa Sombrero in Puerto Jiménez, on the Osa Peninsula, when Alfred died while swimming in the ocean. His daughter Aubry Storay said the cause of death was likely a heart attack.

Alfred and Aubry were visiting Kobe Storay, who recently had bought land in the area.

Correction: The Tico Times, citing the article written in Diario Extra, incorrectly reported some facts about Alfred Kobe Storay. Her daughter informed us that Storay was 52, not 45. He did not own land in Costa Rica, but was on vacation visiting his son Kobe Ticon Storay. And Alfred Storay died of natural causes, believed to be a heart attack. Neither Alfred nor Kobe were swept out in an undertow. However, Alfred Storay was swimming when he died.
