New fuel prices approved

The Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) on Monday approved an increase in the per-liter price of gasoline and a decrease in diesel.

The adjustment is a result of a calculation formula that takes into account international prices of each of the finished products according to the commodity exchange market in New York.

With new prices, Super gasoline will increase â‚¡28, and the per-liter price jumps from â‚¡739 to â‚¡767 ($1.47-$1.53).

Plus gasoline will cost â‚¡24 more, from â‚¡697 to â‚¡721 ($1.39-$1.44), while diesel will decrease by â‚¡8, from â‚¡658 to â‚¡650 ($1.31-$1.30) per liter.

New prices will take effect once they are published in the official newspaper La Gaceta, which is expected to occur later this week.
