Regulatory agency approves decrease in prices of diesel and super gasoline

The Public Services Regulatory Authority (ARESEP) on Wednesday approved a decrease in fuel prices just a week after they set a ₡9 increase due to a miscalculation in the profit margin of fuel vendors.

The per-liter price of super gasoline will drop â‚¡8, and diesel prices will drop â‚¡13. Regular gasoline will maintain its current price.

With the adjustment, super gasoline will cost â‚¡739 ($1.47) per liter, and diesel will cost â‚¡611 ($1.22), ARESEP reported in a press release.

The price variation is due to changes in the international price of fuels on the New York Stock Exchange registered from May 30-June 13.

ARESEP already approved the new prices for publication in the official newspaper La Gaceta, and they will be effective starting at midnight on the day they are published.
