The 2026 Miami Open presented by Itaú begins today at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, with qualifying rounds scheduled for March 15 and 16. The full tournament runs through March 29 and brings together top men’s and women’s players in a combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event.
Qualifying matches start the action on the outer courts, setting the stage for the main draw. Women’s singles begin March 17, while men’s singles start March 18. Play continues with second round matches March 19-20, third round March 21-22, fourth round March 23, quarterfinals March 24-25, women’s singles semifinals March 26, and finals on March 28 for women’s singles and March 29 for men’s singles and doubles.
The singles draws include 96 players each, with direct entries, qualifiers, wild cards, and one special exempt. Top seeds receive first-round byes. Prize money totals $9,415,725 per tour, with the singles champion earning $1,151,380 and 1,000 ranking points.
The men’s field features Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Taylor Fritz. Jakub Mensik defends the title he won last year against Djokovic.
The women’s side includes Aryna Sabalenka, who defends her crown after beating Jessica Pegula in the 2025 final, along with Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, Mirra Andreeva, and Jasmine Paolini. Wild cards went to Venus Williams, who makes her 23rd appearance and owns three Miami titles, plus Sloane Stephens, the 2018 champion.
Theme days add to the event: Women’s Empowerment Day on March 17, Hispanic Heritage Day on March 19, Brazilian Heritage Day on March 18, and Italian Heritage Day on March 20.
No Costa Rican players appear in the entry lists or qualifying draws. The tournament follows Indian Wells as part of the Sunshine Double and draws crowds with day and evening sessions starting at 11 a.m. local time in early rounds.
