BREAKING: Liberation presidential candidate Johnny Araya to hold much-anticipated press conference

National Liberation Party presidential candidate Johnny Araya said he will make an important announcement this afternoon at the Hotel Corobicí in western San José. The announcement comes the day after the publication of a poll by University of Costa Rica’s Semanario Universidad that showed Araya with only 20.9 percent support, while opposition candidate Luis Guillermo Solís captured 64.4 percent. Solís canceled a planned trip to Washington D.C. to await the news. According to Article 138 of the Costa Rican Constitution, Araya cannot drop out of the presidential race, he can just stop campaigning.
