Five temblors recorded Wednesday west of Costa Rica’s capital

The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), reported five medium-strength earthquakes west of the capital between 6-11 p.m. on Wednesday.

The temblors occurred in Escazú and Alajuelita, the strongest recorded at 6:39 p.m. with a magnitude-2.6, a depth of 6 kilometers and an epicenter just below Escazú.

OVSICORI said in a press release that is impossible to predict whether temblors will continue in the area.
