ICE offers pre-paid phone cards in U.S.

The Costa Rican Electricity Institute’s (ICE) Kölbi pre-paid international division now offers a pre-paid telephone card that allows users to call Costa Rica from the U.S. and other countries, ICE announced.

In addition to the U.S. card users can phone friends and family in Costa Rica from Europe and Latin America.

Per-minute rates are set by operators in countries where the card is used. According to ICE International Business Director Orlando Cascante, the card offers the lowest rates on the market for international calling. Pre-paid minutes are good up to 12 months, and cards can be reloaded via the Internet.

ICE will sell the cards at kiosks and stores for $5, $10 and $20.
