Los Agüizotes Strike Fear at Annual Nicaraguan Festival

Los Agüizotes, Masaya’s annual celebration featuring ghosts and other spirits of the dead, took to the streets of the “City of Flowers” Oct. 29 for a night of ghoulish fun. Though the annual celebration is held the last Friday of October, Los Agüizotes is not the same as Halloween — as any Nicaraguan is quick to point out. (See slideshow at wordpress-257819-2837440.cloudwaysapps.com homepage for more scenes from the celebration).
