Annual Bingo Fundraiser Benefits Charities

The Association of Diplomatic Ladies will throw its annual bingo benefit fundraiser Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Barceló San José Palacio hotel, in the northwestern La Uruca district.

This hugely popular event has been attracting hundreds of people each year since 1999. All funds go toward humanitarian charities, such as the Association for Children’s Smiles, which cares for at-risk youngsters, and the Palliative Care Unit, which helps terminally ill children and their families.

Prizes include airline tickets, plasma TVs, hotel and restaurant vouchers, spa and beauty treatments, quality wine and much more.

Tickets cost ¢10,000 (about $17) and can be reserved by calling 8857-0106, 2234-8402 or 8859-1394.
