Tourist Police Busted For Stealing From Tourists

In February, just a couple of months after the Public Security Ministry launched the Tourist Police to beef up patrols at touristy areas, detectives made some big arrests: The chief of the tourist police and a municipal police officer in the central Pacific town of Jacó.

The two cops were suspected of stealing a video camera from a stash of stolen property abandoned by a band of Colombian thieves. The property belonged to tourists from Argentina.
