Watch out, Imperial, a foreigner is grabbing for your crown.
Cervecería Costa Rica has announced plans to import Gallo, Guatemala’s premier lager.
“Really, all beers compete,” Centeno said. “Gallo is going to compete with Imperial. This beer introduces new options into the country.”
The twist-top bottles are expected to be available in supermarkets, restaurants and bars this week.
“It is a lager … Beer drinkers will like it a lot because it has a strong taste,” said Cindy Centeno, senior adviser for Porter Novelli public relations, which represents Cervecería Costa Rica.
