Danish Motorcyclist Dies in Cahuita Crash

Globe-trotting Danish motorcyclist Heinner Sporgare, 25, crashed into a tree and died last week in the Cahuita beach area on the southern Caribbean coast.

“He died near the entrance of the CahuitaNational Park,” said Germán Marín, director of the transit police. The accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. on June 28.

Sporgare was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Sporgare had been staying alone at a nearby hotel for a week and was just passing through on an apparent tour of the world, police said.

Police are unsure what caused the crash and found no evidence that alcohol was involved, said Maria Ortega, head of the Bribrí police.
