Special Security Commission Meets

Three months after it was created to address increasing crime, the Special Security Commission met for the first time Wednesday.
The commission is expected to present recommendations on improving the nation’s security after calling expert testimony.
But there is no deadline and the body will exist until at least 2010. The group, which plans to meet every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon, passed a handful of motions, mostly scheduling testimony.
