Private Sector to Get 5.1% Pay Raise

Workers in the private sector in Costa Rica will get a 5.1% pay raise at the beginning of next year, according to a statement from the Union of Private Sector Chambers and Associations (UCCAEP).

 

These salary adjustments were agreed upon Oct. 25 during a meeting of union, Labor Ministry and private sector representatives. Raises will go into effect Jan. 1, 2008.

 

About 1.6 million Costa Ricans work in the private sector.
