Prostate Cancer Workshop Tomorrow

Anybody interested in learning more about prostate cancer is invited to a workshop being held tomorrow by the Support Group for Patients with Prostate Cancer (ASOCANPRO). The event is free and begins at 9 a.m. at the amphitheater of the Costa Rican Doctors’ and Surgeons’ Association, south of La Sabana Park in San José.

Doctors and surgeons will speak (in Spanish) about men’s health issues, as well as the latest in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. The Costa Rican Institute Against Cancer and the Urologists’ Association will also participate.

“Prostate cancer has grown at a dizzying rate in Costa Rica in the past 15 years and it continues to grow,” Pierra Herbert, president of ASOCANPRO, said in a statement.

For more information, contact Herbert at 282-8416, or ASOCANPRO director Felipe Rincón at 537-0591.
