IN the third annual “Best of LatinAmerica” edition of Latin Trade, the magazine’sreaders, who cast their votes for thebusinesses honored in the edition, choseCafé Britt, San José’s La Piazzetta,Alajuela’s Hotel Marriott and San Pedro’sJazz Café as among the best in their respectivecategories – coffee, restaurant, hotel andclub.Other winners include HorizontesNature Tours andViajes EjecutivosMundiales (Vemsa)as Costa Rica’s besttravel agencies;Avis, Budget andDollar as the bestrental car companies;Multiplaza delEste, in the westernSan José suburb ofEscazú, as the bestmall; Il Panino,also in Escazú, as the best café; and Cariariand Valle del Sol, both outside San José, asthe country’s best golf courses.The eastern San José restaurant Bakea,with its Cordon Bleu-trained chef CamilleRatton-Pérez, was named “best-kept secret,”while Escazú was named “bestneighborhood.”Latin Trade conducts the surveyamong its readers via Internet.
