Justice Minister Cristina RamÃrez's resignation was announced during the president’s weekly press conference at Casa Presidencial Tuesday. She will step down Tuesday to accept a position with the National Insurance Institute.
President-elect Luis Guillermo Solis presented the first half of his Cabinet ministers Monday, including Vice President Helio Fallas as his minister of finance. SolÃs appeared to start his deficit reduction plan by cutting down the number of ministers in his Cabinet, assigning Fallas to double duty and eliminating another post altogether.
