A committee made up of members from the nine parties of the Legislative Assembly will conduct a three month investigation of the possible misuse of government funds by Rodrigo Arias, the brother of former President Oscar Arias and former Presidency Minister. The investigation will be used to determine whether or not Arias interfered with the decision of the Public Prosecutor's office to halt the investigation of the case shortly after issuing a subpoena to Arias on Oct. 9.
The worker was killed on Costa Rica's "La Platina" bridge, which connects San José to Alajuela. As a result of the accident, the part of the General Cañas road leading to the airport will be closed every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., until Feb. 21.
