U.S. citizen injured in Nicoya car wreck dies

A United States citizen died Friday morning due to injuries sustained in a car crash on the Nicoya Peninsula.

The 46-year-old U.S. man with the last name Cochram died after he was transported to San José for treatment. The accident occurred in a Toyota pick-up as the pick-up containing Cochram and four other foreigners rolled over near Playa Carillo in the northwest province of Guanacaste around noon Thursday, according to a report issued by the Judicial Investigation Police.

Cochram, according to the report, was the only passenger transported to the capital. Cochram succumbed to his injuries at approximately 5:30 a.m. Friday, the report said.
