UPDATE: Ticket prices announced for Latin rock legends Café Tacvba show in Costa Rica on Sept. 19

Mexican rock luminaries Café Tacvba will play San José on Sept. 19, making a stop at the Gimnasio Nacional, according to an update Monday on the group’s official website.

Ticket prices are set at ₡22,500 ($45) and ₡27,500 ($54), and are on sale at Publitickets.com.

The Mexican magazine WARP is producing the show. WARP started producing a Costa Rican edition of its magazine within the last year, and hopes to boost its name recognition in the country with the a weekend-long event headlined by Café Tacvba. Costa Rican groups Cocofunka and 424 will open the concert.

Café Tacvba is currently finishing up a U.S. tour before playing Costa Rica for the first time since 2009. The band’s latest tour is in support of its 2012 album “El objeto antes llamado disco,” the Latin rockers first album in five years.

Their 2003 album “Cuatro Caminos” won a Grammy for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album. In 2007, the group released the hugely popular follow-up “Sino” (featuring hits like“Volver a Comenzar” and “Esta Vez,”).

Café Tacvba, named after a famous coffee shop in Mexico City, formed in 1989, and the group’s eclectic rock turned them into concert mainstays in the early 1990s.
