NBA star Kobe Bryant vacations in Costa Rica

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant arrived in Costa Rica last week, according to the Immigration Administration. Bryant arrived at Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste, on June 18 for his second visit to Costa Rica. The basketball player last visited Ticolandia in September 2012. At this writing he had not yet left the country.

Traveling with his wife, Vanessa Laine, and their two daughters, Bryant was spotted staying in a private bungalow at the luxurious Four Seasons Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo, according to the website everardoherrera.com. Later he traveled to La Fortuna, near the scenic Arenal Volcano, where he was photographed with a zip-lining harness.

The Tico Times received a tip Monday afternoon that the Bryant family was staying at a beachside villa in Playa Langosta in Tamarindo, Guanacaste. The 36-year-old guard could soon have more time to enjoy Costa Rica’s beaches. The two-time Most Valuable Player may be preparing to retire after 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to comments from Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak in an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio in May.

Bryant has played for the Lakers for his entire NBA career, but has been nagged by injuries in recent seasons and unable to display the form that made him a 17-time All-Star, two-time NBA scoring champion and two-time Olympic champion. As to his whereabouts or his activities here, the NBA star is keeping silent on social media. If you’ve spotted Kobe, send an email or photos to reporter Zach Dyer at: zdyer@ticotimes.net.
