Gospel Music Festival To ‘Let It Shine’

“Let it Shine 2007” is the name of the second annual Costa Rican Gospel Choir Music Festival, set for Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. in the Melico Salazar Theater in downtown San José.

The event was created last year with the objective of promoting gospel music in Costa Rica and encouraging choir groups to perfect their craft.

A panel of noted Tico musical artists and professors will judge the choirs, and a festival winner will be named after the shows.

Well-known Costa Rican gospel groups MasterKey and T4 (the Tucker sisters) will give special performances.

Tickets, which cost ¢2,000-3,000 ($3.80-5.80) plus a ¢400 ($0.80) service charge, can by bought online at www.specialticket.net, at Sapristore outlets and at the Melico Salazar Theater box office starting Aug. 21.

For more information about the festival, see www.myspace.com/gospelfestcostarica or call 259-1835 or 824-6865.
