TEENAGERS from 11 American schools from six Central American countries are converging on the Central Valley for the Association of American Schools of Central America (AASCA) Coed Basketball Tournament, hosted by the Marian Baker School in San Ramón de Tres Ríos,east of San José.The tournament is running now through Sunday at schools on either side of the capital – at the Marian Baker School and at the Country Day School in the western suburb of Escazú.Costa Rica has entered teams from both the hosting schools, the Country Day School in Guanacaste, the northern Pacific province, the American International School in Belén, northwest of San José, and the Lincoln School in Moravia, northeast of San José.Also participating are the Lincoln International Academy of Nicaragua,Honduras’ Mazapan School, Guatemala’s Colegio Maya, the International School of El Salvador, the International School of Panama and Panama’s Balboa Academy.Games today and tomorrow take place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For information, contact the Marian Baker School (www.marianbakerschool.com) at 273-0024 or 273-3681, or Country Day School (www.cds.ed.cr) at 289-8406.
