INCAE Maintains Title As Region’s Best

The Financial Times has ranked the Central American Institute of Business Administration (INCAE), a Harvard-affiliated university outside of San José, as the best business school in Latin America and 20th in the world.

According to a statement from the school, the newspaper’s ranking, conducted every year since 1999, is based on information provided by the schools themselves and data from a survey of 8,300 business school students.

INCAE Rector Roberto Artavia said in the statement that the school’s high-quality faculty, the impact the school has on the careers and income levels of its students and the institute’s innovation in the areas of management, applied economics and sustainable development are all reasons the school achieved the high ranking.

The school, which has branches in 10 countries, offers Master’s degrees and executive training, and conducts research, extension classes and think tanks.

Last year, the institute placed tenth in an international ranking of business schools conducted by The Wall Street Journal and Harris Interactive; the ranking was based on the attractiveness of the school to recruiters. It was also named the best business school in Latin America for the third consecutive year by the magazine AméricaEconomía (TT, Sept. 30, 2005).

INCAE’s programs are internationally accredited under AACSB, EQUIS and SACS standards.
