The former labor activist whose home held a safe containing about $480,000 of Colombian rebel cash is scheduled to testify Thursday before a Legislative Assembly commission investigating the presence of the rebels in Costa Rica.
Police raided the house of Cruz Prado and her husband, Francisco Gutiérrez, in Heredia province, north of San José, after learning of the safe from a computer seized following the March 1 attack by Colombia on suspected rebel camp in Ecuador.
The computer belonged to Raúl Reyes, the No. 2 in command of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), who was killed in the attack.
Gutiérrez, a well known former professor, will not testify before the commission.
Prado and Gutiérrez played host to Reyes and another FARC leader when they came to Costa Rica for peace talks with the U.S. State Department. They said they agreed to hold the safe but did not know it contained money.
