Gov’t Offices Closed Monday

MOST government offices willremain closed Monday in observance ofDía de las Culturas, a national holidaythat was Tuesday of this week.Last week, President Abel Pachecoannounced the country’s governmentoffices and institutions would celebratethe holiday, which is related to ColumbusDay in the United States, on Oct. 18 sothat public workers can enjoy a three-dayholiday (TT, Oct. 8).The U.S. Embassy in San Joséannounced this week it also will remainclosed Monday in celebration of the holiday.
