Bridge Club welcomes players

If you are a beginner or intermediate bridge player, or if you wish to learn to play the fascinating and challenging game of bridge, this notice is for you.

The Costa Rican Bridge Club (Asociación Recreativa Nacional de Bridge) is interested in developing new players to join in playing bridge, the activity we all love and cherish. The emphasis will be on learning and fun in a social atmosphere.

A relaxed bridge game takes place every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at “The Club” in Sabana Oeste. The game starts promptly and usually lasts three and a half hours. Refreshments (coffee, soft drinks and bakery treats) are included in the ₡4000 ($8) price. You will meet friendly folks who are interested in the fun of learning and playing bridge and meeting new people.

Also, a free weekly social meeting has just begun for anyone interested in learning about bridge in Costa Rica, held every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the club. “Open bridge” is played until noon. You will also be able to meet club members. Refreshments are served at no cost.

The language used is English. Many of the players are North Americans, but the club also includes players from throughout South America.

The club is just west of the POPS ice cream shop, across the street from the La Bruja convenience store. There are also bridge games for advanced to expert players at various times throughout the week. For more information, contact me at the email address below or call Ian McLennan at 8835-0575.
