October in Costa Rica: when the Caribbean comes a’callin’

Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast is famously exempt from many of the typical weather patterns in the rest of the country. In fact, September, October and November, the months when the rest of the country experiences its heaviest downpours, are often the nicest months of the year on the eastern slope. (Please note that The Tico Times is not guaranteeing sunny skies: rain is certainly possible, but generally not the daily deluge experienced elsewhere during the height of the rainy season.)

Stay tuned for today’s Tico Times Weekly Digest, recorded this week at the Hotel Banano Azúl in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. And read on to see what you might experience when hiking along the coastal paths of nearby Cahuita National Park.
