Black Sabbath, Megadeth to rock Costa Rica in October

Rock mega-legends Black Sabbath and Megadeth on Friday announced the addition of Costa Rica to their Latin America stadium tour this year. The two metal legends will perform at the National Stadium in western San José on Oct. 22.

Local promoters RPMTV confirmed the concert and reported that tickets will go on sale on June 14 at the website LaBoleteria.co.cr.

Ticket prices range from ₡18,000-₡70,000 ($36-$140), although only 1,000 seats are available for the VIP area, at $140 each. Prices do not include service charges.

The Latin American tour will kick off in Santiago, Chile, followed by Buenos Aires, Argentina; Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Bogotá, Colombia; and then San José.

Black Sabbath will mostly promote its new album, “13,” released this month. The album is the 19th for the British band, and the first after founding members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler reunited three years ago. It is also Osbourne’s first record with the band since 1978.

Drummer Bill Ward recorded some of the tracks, but was replaced by Brad Wilk, drummer from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave.
