Temblors continue to shake Costa Rica

Four earthquakes greater than magnitude-3.0 occurred in the past two days in different parts of Costa Rica.

According to the University of Costa Rica’s National Seismological Network (RSN) the first, a magnitude-3.2 was recorded on Wednesday at 12:48 a.m. with an epicenter in Pérez Zeledón, south of San José.

At 8:59 p.m. a magnitude-4.5 quake with an epicenter in the Pacific port of Quepos was reported as strong in most of the country.

On Thursday, the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) registered a magnitude-3.4 quake at 3:19 a.m. with an epicenter 10 kilometers south of the Pacific port of Golfito.

At 11:11 am OVSICORI reported a magnitude-4.0 located in the mountainous region of Talamanca, in the Caribbean province of Limón.

OVSICORI also registered 12 earthquakes over the weekend in locations across the country, but no damage has been reported.
