Central American Bank loans $100 million to Honduras

Central American Bank for Economic Integration will give $100 million to Honduras. The loan is part of a larger payout to Honduras of $280 million, according to a press release sent out by the BCIE.

The money, which was approved for the loan Monday, will be used to support the BCIE’s to eradicate hunger, support primary education, to reduce the infant mortality rate and to help improve the health of poor mothers. Other projects that the BCIE has helped fund in Honduras this year include support for road infrastructure and road signs, money to buy medical equipment, and several social projects.

 “With this, we are reiterating our commitment to continue supporting meaningful ways of development for Honduras and its people,” said Alejandro Rodriguez Zamora, Executive Vice President of the bank.
