U.S. man receives four months of preventive prison after pot lab uncovered

A hydroponic marijuana lab was discovered by the Judicial Investigation Police (OIJ) during a raid Tuesday night in San Antonio de Escazú, west of San José.  A 40-year-old U.S. man with the last name of Rodgers, who was thought to be renting the home, and a Nicaraguan man were arrested during the raid.

Photos from the OIJ show that an intricate hydroponic cultivation system with connecting hoses, lighting, fans and insulated windows were found in the home. Authorities confiscated several marijuana plants, as well as a Nissan Frontier and an undocumented motorcycle.

Rodgers was given a four month preventative prison sentence.
