Barceló San José Palacio celebrates 25th anniversary with discounts

The Barceló San José Palacio is celebrating its 25th anniversary with 25 percent discounts at all its restaurants and special room rates starting next week.

From Oct. 19-22, all meals will be 25 percent off at the hotel’s restaurants, including the Ánfora (buffet and a la carte international cuisine), Miyako (Japanese food), Rancho Grill (specializing in grilled meats) and El Bosque Bar (drinks, appetizers and live music Fridays and Saturdays).

And on Oct. 18-25, the hotel is offering a special rate of $80 for a single or double room with breakfast included.

On Oct. 22, a special international buffet, again for 25 percent off, will be served at Ánfora from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.

In 1990, the Barceló San José Palacio became the first hotel in Latin America opened by the Spanish chain Barceló.

“Since it opened, the hotel has maintained its sophistication, prestige and status and has evolved with the demands of today’s customers,” said hotel director Alex Tenorio.

The hotel, located in northwest San José, has 254 rooms, 22 suites, one presidential suite, 17 meeting rooms, a convention center, a gym, a steam room, and tennis, racquetball and squash courts.

“We’ve remained on the cutting edge as one of the best Spanish chains competing with big American brands in Costa Rica,” Tenorio said.
