Snoop Dogg will perform in Costa Rica for the first time on Thursday, December 3, at the Centro de Eventos Pedregal in Belén de Heredia, promoter Don Stockwell of Stockwell Entretenimiento announced at a press conference Wednesday. The show falls under the rapper’s The Next Episode tour and is restricted to adults 18 and older. It is being presented by DAVI BANK and produced by Stockwell Entretenimiento.
Tickets will go on sale through Publitickets in the coming days. Stockwell Entretenimiento told reporters it will release more than 38,000 tickets across a footprint of just over 13,000 square meters (roughly 140,000 square feet). Prices and sale times have not been announced. Costa Rican artists Banton and Toledo will open the night, with DJP also on the bill. Toledo told reporters the booking is a rare opportunity for a local performer, describing Snoop Dogg as the most famous rapper in history and comparing his cultural reach to Bob Marley’s.
The San José-area date lands in a thin stretch of the rapper’s calendar. His remaining confirmed appearances for the year are the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 18 and 19, and Simi Fest in Mexico City on December 5 — putting the Costa Rica show two days ahead of the Mexico stop and making it one of only a handful of dates he plays before the year closes.
Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. in Long Beach, California, on October 20, 1971, Snoop Dogg came up through the early-1990s West Coast hip hop scene alongside Dr. Dre, appearing on The Chronic before releasing his own debut, Doggystyle, in 1993. That album topped the Billboard 200 and produced “Gin and Juice” and “Who Am I (What’s My Name?).”
Organizers say the Pedregal set will draw on more than three decades of material. Songs flagged as likely inclusions include those two tracks plus “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Beautiful” and “Young, Wild & Free,” though no setlist has been confirmed.
He is still recording. His 22nd studio album, 10 Til’ Midnight, arrived April 10 through Death Row Records and gamma., a 14-track release with guest appearances from Swizz Beatz, Trinidad James, Peezy and October London, and production from Pharrell Williams, Rick Rock, Erick Sermon and others.
The music has long since stopped being the whole business. Snoop Dogg has worked as an actor, producer, DJ and television personality, with ventures spanning technology, food and beverage, and lifestyle brands, plus the Snoop Youth Football League. He served as an NBC correspondent at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and was again a fixture of the network’s coverage at the Milan Cortina Winter Games in February.
His life story is also headed to theaters. Universal Pictures has scheduled Snoop, an R-rated biographical film, for release on August 6, 2027. Craig Brewer is directing from his own rewrite of a script by Joe Robert Cole, with Jonathan Daviss cast in the lead. Producers include Snoop Dogg himself, Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker.
The announced cast traces the same Death Row era that made him a star, with Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, Tre Hale as Suge Knight, Algee Smith as Warren G, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg and Lauren London as Snoop Dogg’s mother, Beverly Tate.
The December booking arrives at the front edge of Costa Rica’s high season, when hotel and rental inventory around the Central Valley tightens and San José-area event traffic picks up. Anyone planning around the date should watch for the Publitickets on-sale announcement rather than third-party resale listings, which have not been authorized.
For now, December 3 at Pedregal stands as the first Snoop Dogg performance on Costa Rican soil, with organizers saying ticket details will be confirmed as the sale date approaches.
