Sloth Kong takes over airport, offers challenge

We are proud to present to you Sloth Kong, The Tico Times’ friendly representative. This character was created during the collective euphoria of Costa Rica’s historic run in the 2014 World Cup, and his antics were published in The Tico Times. As the National Selection’s legend grew, so did Sloth Kong. It was a complete success!

Sloth Kong has taken over Juan Santamaría International Airport to wish our visitors a good trip home – and a quick return – after their stays in Costa Rica. Once passengers have checked their bags, we encourage them to take a photo with Sloth Kong and share it with us on Facebook with the hashtag #SlothKong, or email it to sk@ticotimes.net. Every month, we will choose the most original photo and we’ll donate $100 on behalf of the winner to a social welfare program or institution for needy children. Send us your pics, and we hope to see you again soon. Pura vida!
