Delta announces seasonal Costa Rica-New York flight

U.S. airline Delta announced this week new seasonal service from JFK International Airport in New York to Juan Santamaría International Airport in Costa Rica.

Daily flights will be scheduled from Dec. 19 to March 31, 2014, and Saturday-only flights from April 1-Aug. 16.

The new flight schedule is already available for booking at the company’s website.

According to a Delta press release, new service is possible because of a $1.4 billion renovation of JFK International Airport’s Terminal 4, which began operating on May 24.

Delta also operates a new daily nonstop flight between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Costa Rica’s capital, which began in July.

Delta operates 40 flights a week during high season, connecting the cities of San José and Liberia, in the northwestern province of Guanaste, with several destinations in the United States.
